The MMA Commerical Branch was formed in 1985 for the promotion and selling of Monaro bred commercial sheep. The organisation maintains a membership of around 100 producers. The MMA Commercial Branch main focus is the conducting of, inconjunction with the Cooma Associated Agents Merino breeders sales between November and March each year. The sales present lines of quality locally bred ewes, wethers and weaners drawn from the Cooma, Snowy River and Bombala Shires.

Monaro bred sheep have proven, in numerous commercial comparison trails throughout Australia, with their hardy constitution, heavy woolcuts and lower microns, to be very profitable sheep. Numerous repeat buyers at these sales are testaments to that.
